At the time of her death she was residing on the Belle Grove plantation, in Terrebonne, where her husband is employed as plantation manager; but she was a native of Lafourche parish, having been born here 52 years ago. Consequently, her body was brought here last Saturday forenoon and laid to rest in St. Joseph Catholic cemetery. The deceased is survived by her son, Walter, and her daughter, Mrs. Gaston Aucoin. She leaves three brothers - Messrs Henry Braud, Wallace Braud and Chas. Braud - and seven sisters - Mrs. A. J. Fryou, Mrs. A. Bertherlotte, Mrs. Ulysse Morvant, Mrs. Edgar Hebert, Mrs. Percy Barelli, Mrs. A. J. Morvant and Mrs. Em. Keller. To all of these we extend our sincere sympathy. =========================== Submitted by: Nancy Wright Furcy Guillot The Lafourche Comet, July 17, 1930, page 4, col. 1 DEATH OF MR GUILLOT The daily papers brought the news Monday of the death of Mr. Furcy Guillot, he having passed away in New Orleans on Saturday, aged 71 years, his funeral being held Sunday. The deceased was a native of Lafourche parish, where, for many years, he was recognized as one of the best plantation managers in the partish, but with the decline of the sugar industry he decided to withdraw from it and pursue some other line. Thus a few years ago he went to New Orleans and opened a grocery, which he operated until his death. Mr. Guillot is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Gaston Aucoin, of New Orleans, a son, Mr. Walter Guillot, manager of the Uncle Sam plantation, of Convent, La., and a sister, who is Mrs. F. J. Guillot, of 610 Green Street, Thibodaux.
