The date preceding the obituary is the date of the newspaper, not the date of death. ============================ Submitted by: Nancy Wright The Lafourche Comet, February 14, 1914 Michael Kantrowitz, sixty-seven years old, died at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Jacob Segen, Saturday night. The funeral will take place from the residence, 2213 Milan street, with services at 10 o'clock Monday morning. Interment will be in Joseph cemetery, Congregation Gates of Prayer, Rabbi Siber officiating. Mr. Kantrowitz, who has been retired from business the past seven or eight years, formerly was in the general merchandise business in Lafourche parish, where he was widely known. In the early seventies he established himself at Harang's Canal, Lafourche parish, and for a number of years conducted one of the largest general merchandise stores of that section. In 1881 he moved to Lockport, where, in addition to merchandising, he did an extensive business in the purchase of furs. He removed to this city about seventeen years ago, and here he since resided.
