LEDET PASSES AWAY Mr. Clement Ledet, aged 33 years, was buried Tuesday [Oct 11]after services at the St. Charles Catholic church. The young man who was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Ledet, had been sick for a long time, he being confined to his bed for the past eight weeks. He is survived by five brothers; Willie, Wilfrid, Alfred, Noe and Louis J., who is a salesman in the shoe department of Ellis Braud?s store, in Thibodaux. Three sisters also are left to cherish the memory of the deceased. They are: Mrs. Walter Gaubert, Mrs. Lucien Lagarde and Miss Claire Ledet, who teaches school at Donner, La. =========================== Submitted by: Chris Tidwell October 1962 Newspaper Clipping: Funeral Service Held Wednesday for GM Man [Jack Anthony "Jackie" Ledet] Funeral services were held for a Golden Meadow man who was found dead in his bunk on a shrimping boat moored near Delcambre Monday morning. Jack Ledet, 22 a native of Golden Meadow and a resident of Brownsville, Texas, was found dead in his bunk at 9 a.m. Monday by the boat's captain June Callais. Ledet was a deckhand on the Sara S. Details on Ledet's death were not yet available. He was the son of Elvin Ledet and the late Alcidie Chouest; brother of Mrs. Lawrence [Betty] Jacobs, Dolores, Dianna, Billy, Melvin and Jeffrey Ledet. Funeral services were held from the Falgout Funeral Homes, Inc., Galliano, Wednesday, followed by religious services at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, Golden Meadow.
