McCrory a resident of the Parish of Catahoula & State aftersaid and wife of James McCrory who is acting herein for herself and husband he being absent who declared and said that for the price and hereinafter mentioned She does by these present grant bargain sell transfer and deliver unto Eli Splawn also a resident of Said parish the following described tracts or parcels of Land lying and being situated in the Parish of Catahoula and being numbered as follows to wit: Lot N five 5, of Section three 3, in Township 9 nine of Range five East in the land District of lands subject to sale at Ouachita, Louisiana containing one hundred and fifty eight acres and ninety eight hundredths of an acres. Certificate N 4312. Also the Lot N of Section N, 3, three, in Township Nine 9 of Range N five 5 East containing seventy-seven acres & 10/100 of an acres and West 1/2 of North East quarter of Section four, 4, in Township 9, nine, of Range 5 East containing 77 106/100's of an acres as per military Land Warrant N 14327. Also Lot one, 1, or North fractional 1/2 of Section N 10 in Township N nine,9, North of Range N five East containing seventy, 70, acres & 112/100 as per received receipt No 21213. Also eighty acres lying West of the Charles Coon Land and was entered by James McCrory. And also another tract of Land containing eighty acres and lying East of the first mentioned tract, and the same being entered by the said James McCrory all these tracts containing about five, 527 acres, hundred and twenty seven acres. To have and to hold unto the aforesaid purchaser his heirs or assigns the aforesaid described Land the title of which the Said venders warrant and defend to be free from the lawful claims of any and all persons whomsoever. This Sale and Transfer is made for the price and sum of three thousand five hundred dollars which the Said purchaser has this day executed his three promissory notes in favor of the Said Mrs. McCrory or order and Stipulating eight per cent interest after maturity until paid the first falling due so _____ as the said Splawn sells his cotton, and the other two notes falling due annually the first for the sum of twelve hundred and fifty dollars and the other two notes each for the sum of eleven hundred and twenty five dollars and each stipulating interest after due at the rate of eight per cent. And the parties all being present agree to dispense with a mortgage certificate as required by article three thousand three hundred twenty eight of the Civil Code of the State and fully exonerate me Recorder from all harm in the premises for passing this act without the production of the same. Thus Done and signed in the Parish aforesaid in the presence of Isaac H. Little and John Andes both competent and lawful witnesses together with me said Recorder & Notary. On the day date first within written. The Said Mrs. McCrory Signs this deed for herself and husband James McCrory, and the said Mrs. McCrory further sells with the land mentioned in this deed all the stock belonging to said Plantation, forty head of cattle, more or less, one hundred and fifty head of hogs, more or less, thirty head of sheep, more or less, one yoke and a half of oxen, one wagon and all the farming tools on the plantation/ also the Blacksmith tools, six hundred barrels of corn more or less all the fodder and hay and everything attached to Said plantation except the cotton.
