Ezell Dear Friend I expect you have almost given me out Ever writing to you any more but my reason for not writing me and Isaac had just wrote a day or two before wen (sic) I rec'd your letter and and I had nothing to write about and a few days after I cut my fingers prety (sic) bad working at the gin while runing (sic) and I have not been able to use my pen Since. therefore I hope you will tink (sic) hard of it. wen (sic) you writte (sic) the name of post office and county. it was over a month from the time you wrote til I rec'd your letter. there is so many green mail agent on the traines. they send letters to alomo (sic) in Souther texas very often. This leave us all well hoping this few lines may find you all in the Same is joiement (sic). Dr. I have nothing new to write. we are having some prety (sic) cold wether (sic) here. it has been freezing very hard. if it is this cold in louisiana Suposed (sic) you have a find (sic) time hunting hogs and I would like to be with you. I was truly glad to hear that Mr. boatner had nearly the same fate that Captain forsight had with the cattles. You Say you have a Christ in your part of the country. I Suposed (sic) he cure all desease (sic) by faith but faith doctrine will Soon play out. a new broom always Sweep well for a little while. it is the case here also a new doctor comes in ones (sic) in a while but they don't last long. Dr you tell me to aske (sic) Isaac if peoples pay there (sic) bills here. they pay a little better than they do in louisiana because there is more ways beside cotton. the most of them have cattles (sic) and a man can always get Something in Texas. Crops are divided. wheat comes in market in may and June and it bring some money in the country and beefs and cotton comes in in the fall, while in louisiana you have to wait for cotton and if that fails it all fail. Dr. I would like to have you here with us.
