Apparently, these figures would indicate that town finances were about breaking even. Actually, it's a matter for town officials of being careful to spend only the approximate income since town needs run considerably higher than present income. The hard-playing Jena Oilers earned the right to take a crack at the Northeast Louisiana semi-pro baseball championship in a playoff with Winnsboro. The Oilers get their chance by issuing Wednesday's opponents, the Olla Tigers, a decisive defeat. Winnsboro downed the Clarks aggregation, one of the top teams of the league, to put them in the playoffs. The Jena Times: Subscription in the Parish, 6 months, $1.25; 12 months $2.00. George Trussell, president of the LaSalle Parish Police Jury, has issued a statement reminding everyone that an ordinance passed by the jury prohibits the cutting of fences, leaving gates and gaps open along fenced highways. The ordinance, passed this June, provides a fine of $100 and 30 days in jail for any person or firm found guilty of cutting fences, leaving gates and gaps open on fenced highways. Gov.
