Baker, near Jena, Catahoula parish, was destroyed by fire. Miss Rhinehart, who was occupying the upper story, had to leap from the window to save her life, and by this act seriously injured herself. Mr. Baker's youngest daughter, about six years of age, perished in the flames." Additional Comments: According to the 1880 Mortality Schedule for Catahoula Parish, the Baker child's name was Claudy Baker and she was six years old. The Miss Rhinehart, may be Alice Rhinehart, daughter of Thomas.
