He was an oil field switcher. Services were held at 10 a.m., Friday, August 3, 1990, at the Eddy Justiss Memorial United Methodist CHurch in Trout, with the Revs. Mimms Robertson and George Reech officiating. Burial was in the Eden Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers of Jena. Basham is survived by his wife, Jessie Whatley Basham of Trout; one son, William "Buddy" Basham of College Station, Tx.; two daughters, Aubin B. King of Olla and June B. Plunket of Houma; two sisters, Jessie Coleman of Jena and Irene Tuttle of Mobile, Ala.; and seven grandchildren. Pallbearers were David Cole, Jason Cole, James King, Darrel King, Ray Bailey, O.G. Bell, Lance Basham and Earl Peavy Jr. Additional Comments: Bill married Jessie Lee WHATLEY on 23 Sep 1931 in Georgetown LA. He was the son of William Lindsey BASHAM & Texie REED.
