Box 219 Trout, La. 71371 Source: The Jena Times - Olla Tullos Signal; Jena, LaSalle Parish, La. Clippings at the LaSalle Parish Library, Located in Jena, LaSalle Parish, La. Date: Wednesday, August 8, 1990 Headline: Charges Made... Subheadline: Jena man murdered at Ferriday scene A dispute between a man and his ex-wife ended last Monday, July 30, 1990, when he killed the woman and a Jena man while two young children watched, authorities said. Ann Guillott, 37, of Ferriday and David Bradford, 41, of Jena, were standing in front of her house on Texas Avenue in Ferriday at 10 p.m. Monday when Pete Guillot gunned them down with a hunting rifle, according to Concordia Sheriff Hubert McGlothin. The Guillots' children, who are about 4 and 5 years old, were with their mother when the shooting occurred, deputies said. The killings took place across the street from the sheriff's home. This apparently in not a case of a jealous husband striking out at his wife, deputies determined. The Guillots were reported involved recently in a child custody dispute. "No definite motive has been established," a sheriff's spokeswoman said. "It stemmed from the last few years of quarreling. They had been divorced for some time." Guillot, 40, of 211 Cowan St., Ferriday was jailed on two counts of first- degree murder and is being held without bond. He was charged with first-degree murder instead of second-degree murder because he killed more than one person. First-degree murder can carry the death penalty under Louisiana law. A sheriff's deputy said Monday that Guillot is not sorry for committing the murders. "He is showing no remorse," the deputy said. "He said he should have done it years ago." McGlothin said he, his wife and children were watching television in their home across the street from Ms. Guillot's residence when the fatal shots were fired. "I grabbed my gun and went out and got my big flashlight out of the car. When I got to Bradford, his eyes had already dilated,"McGlothin said. Bradford "still had a beer bottle in his hand, he was killed so fast," the sheriff said. McGlothin said he found Ms. Guillot crawling around. He said he got her to lie still while they waited for an ambulance. She was taken to Riveralnd Medical Center, where she died in surgery about 11:15 p.m., he said. The sheriff didn't see the killer. "I heard him leaving," McGlothin said. "And he took the two kids, a boy and a girl, with him. He drove them to their grandparent's house and then went to his house." McGlothin said a friend heard about the shootings and went to the suspect's home and talked him into going to the Sheriff's Office and giving himself up. The suspect surrendered a short while after the killings occurred. Ms. Guillot and Bradford were shot with a .30-.30 caliber rifle, which was found under the suspect's home. A deputy said three spent cartridges were found at the shooting scene, which indicates one of the victims may have been shot twice. The parish coroner, Dr. William Polk, ordered autopsies as part of the ongoing investigation, the deputy said. *********************************************************** David Wayne Bradford David Wayne Bradford, 41, of Jena, died on Monday, July 30, 1990, in Ferriday from a gunshot wound.
