He was retired from Justiss-Mears Oil Company and a distinguished U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 11, in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena with the Revs. Crawford Coon and Mike Poole officiating. Date: Nov 19, 1935, Thursday Headline: Colleen Breithaupt Dies at Shreveport Hospital Tuesday Colleen Breithaupt, five year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Breithaupt, who reside on French Fork, died at a Shreveport hospital Tuesday night and her remains were brought to the family home for funeral services on Wednesday by Kinner and Stevens, local undertakers. The little girl's death was caused from the effects of a weed entering her knee while picking up pecans two weeks ago. Dr. W. H. Floyd pronounced the infection tetanus and she was sent to Shreveport last week. Date: December 26, 1957 Headline: Luther Breithaupt is Victim of Heart Attack; Rites Held Luther Breithaupt, 49, a native of LaSalle Parish and resident of this are all his life, died suddenly Sunday morning at 7 o'clock as the result of a heart attack at Corpus Christi, Texas. Mr. Breithaupt was aboard a dredge boat on which he was working when he suffered his fatal attack. The body was later flown from Aransas Pass, Texas, to the Jena airport. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Pine Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Genie Walker conducting the final rites. Interment in Pine Grove Cemetery was under the direction of Kinner and Stevens Home for Funerals, Jena. Breithaupt Held June 3 Here Mrs. Nannie Elizabeth Breithaupt, 83 years, succombed to pneumonia after several weeks illness June 2, at 9:30 p.m. Deceased was a lifelong resident of this section, being born in Rhinehart and completing her residence there 35 years ago, she has since that time been living in Jena. Mrs. Breithaupt was a member of the Nolley Memorial Methodist Church of Jena. Surviving are six sons and one daughter: B. Date: Wednesday, May 29, 1991, Page 10A Truman Augusta Breithaupt (Newspaper has photo) Truman Augusta Breithaupt was one of the twelve children born to Charles and LeRuey Breithaupt at their home near Archie, on April 13, 1911. He went to his heavenly home on May 24, 1991 at 10:00 a.m. in LaSalle General Hospital in Jena at the age of 80. He was a retired oilfield worker, dredge boat mate, and farmer. Daddy (Pachaw) was special in many ways, but he was dedicated to his wife of 59 years, his children, and his grandchildren. In March 1932 he married Daisy Crooks and they were blessed with eight children. His special strength came from within and from his Savior, whom he accepted on May 24, 1987 at Pritchard Baptist Church. A celebration of his homegoing was held at the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Jena on Sunday, May 26, 1991 at 10:00 a.m. officiated by Rev. Gary Norris and Rev. Mack Walker. Interment was in the Woodland Cemetery of Jena under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include his wife, Daisy Crooks Breithaupt of the Old River Community; three sons, Travis A. Breithaupt of Jayees, Miss., L.V.
