Date: January 17, 1974 Headline: Rapides Man Falls Dead While Fishing A 67-year old man died late Friday afternoon after he apparently suffered a heart attack while fishing on a bayou near here, according to LaSalle Parish Sheriff's Department. Officials identified the man as Esaw brown. He was pronounced dead at the scene by LaSalle Parish Coroner I. C. Turnley. Deputy Butch Ganey, who investigated the incident, said Brown was fishing off the banks of Sandy Bayou located two miles east of the Diversion Canal near La. Hwy. 28 when death occurred. Brown was fishing with two of his brothers who told police that Brown was in the process of removing a fish from his line when he fell forward onto his face.
