Date: Thursday, January 3, 1929 IN MEMORY OF A. CHEVALLIER Another one of LaSalle's most beloved citizens was called by death Tuesday morning, December 18 at 7:40 o'clock, when A. Chevallier passed away at the residence of John A. Hailey of Nebo, La. Mr. Chevallier becam sick Friday morning with pneumonia. Although all the medical skill and loving care possible was rendered him, he passed away at 7:40 o'clock, surrounded by members of the family and friends. A. Chevallier was born in Catahoula parish February 14, 1867. He spent most of his life in Catahoula and LaSalle parish. Funeral services were held at the Catholic cemetery, Rev. E.W. Corley officiating. Beside two brothers and three sisters, he leaves the following children to mourn his passing: Messrs. Edd, Ducth, Arch, Clarence and Sheppard Chevallier, Mrs. Charlie Floyd, Mrs. John A. Hailey and two step-sons, Eli and Len Huffman. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel of Hixson Brothers Inc. of Jena with Revs. Hardy Bingham and Larry Doughty officiating. Interment followed in Woodland Cemetery of Jena with arrangements by Hixson Brothers. DATE: March 4, 1948 Headline: Resident Walters Community Buried Mr. Willie W. (Dutch) Chevallier was buried Tuesday feb. 2, at 2 p.m. in the Jena cemetery. The deceased had been a lifelong resident of the Walters Community and at the time of his death Monday, March 1, 1948 was 58 years, 4 months and 28 days old. He became a member of the Baptist church early in, life and was married to Miss Dola Sanson Nov. 21, 1912. No children were born to this union, but in addition to a host of friends, nieces, nephews and other relatives he leaves to mourn his passing his wife.
