Corley, 79, of Jena died Monday, April 9, 2007 at the LaSalle Nursing Center of Jena. He was a retired employee with the Louisiana Department of Highways and Transportation. Services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 11, in the chapel of Hixson Bro- thers Funeral Home of Jena with Rev. Albert Vickers officiating. Interment followed in the Squires Cemetery near Summerville under direction of Hixson Brothers Inc., of Jena. Survivors include one daughter, Kathy Malcomb of Jena; one son, Paul Corley of Olla; one sister, Barbara Coker of Saline; one brother, Oliver Corley of Saline; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Katherine Corley. Date: Wednesday, December 30, 1998 Hershel E. "Spot" Corley, Sr. Hershel E. "Spot" Corley, Sr., 74, of Georgetown, died Tuesday, December 21, 1998, in the St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria. He was actively involved in Lincecum Baptist Church and was retired from the Louisiana department of Transportation and Development. He was a 1942 graduate of Selma High School and was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during World War II. He was born June 27, 1924, to the union of Charles E. and Eula Corley. Services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 23, in Lincecum Baptiat Church with Rev. Jim Winegeart officiating. Interment followed in the Georgetown Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include his wife, Coleen Atwell Corley of Georgetown; two sons, Hershel E. Corley Is Dead After Illness of Only Seven Days People in all this section were grieved to learn of the death of James H. Corley, which occurred at his home in Rogers last Sunday, January 4. Mr. Corley had passed his entire lifetime in this section and numbered his friends by the score. He leaves behind a number of sorrowing relatives and a host of saddened friends. The deceased was born on October 15, 1866, at Rogers. He had been a member of the Magnolia Methodist Church for some 40 years. Mr. Corley died as the result of a kidney ailment. He had been ill for seven days when he passed away. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. John Henry Smith, pastor of the Jena Baptist Church. Interment was in the Evans Cemetery near Rogers. The deceased is survived by his wife, four sisters, Mesdames. Florence Breland, Lillie Hanner, Mollie Lincecum of Rogers and Mrs. Minnie Gibson of Jonesville; seven brothers, Virgil, F. B., and W. J. Date: August 8, 1935 Headline: Mrs. Corley Dies at Home in Rogers; Was Buried Wednesday Funeral services for Mrs. Lidea Ann Corley, aged 66, were held at the Magnolia Church on last Wednesday afternoon, interment following in the cemetery at that place. Mrs. Corley passed away at her home at Rodgers at 2 a.m. from a stroke of apoplexy. The deceased had resided in this section all of her life and was a devout member of the Baptist Church. Her pastor, Rev. A. O. Odom, officiated and the funeral arrangements were in charge of Kinner and Stevens, Jena undertakers. Corley Buried August 30 at Belah A cloud of sorrow covered the Belah community when news spread of the death of Mrs. Margaret Windham Corley. Mrs. Corley passed away August 28, 1946, at her home, cause of death being heart trouble. She was born March 18, 1876, being 70 years, 5 months, and 10 days old. On December 1, 1897, she was married to G. A. Corley who preceded her to the grave 13 years ago. One daughter, Mrs. Viola Corley Coon also preceded her to the grave. She joined the Baptist Church at the age of 15 years. Funeral services were held August 30, 1946, at 2:30 p. m., at the Belah Methodist Church, with Rev. R. M. Doughty of Tullos officiating. Survivors are: two daughters and three sons, Mrs. S. A. Fairbanks of Parhams, Mrs. B. B. Coon of Whitehall, Ira, Burley and Meredith Corley of Trout, R. F. She was a homemaker and member of the McVay Memorial Church of the Nazarene. She was born May 23, 1902 in Drakes Creek, Ark. To the union of Charles and Cynthia Stanfield Dorsey. Services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, January 12, in the chapel of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home in Jena with the Revs. Jerry Cole and Fred Summers officiating. Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery of Claremore, Ok. Under arrangements by Kinner and Stevens, Inc. of Jena. Survivors include three sons, Kenneth Ledbetter of Pineville, Stanley Ledbetter of Enumelaw, Wa. and Harold Ledbetter of Owasso, Ok.; five step- daughters, Verla Stringer of West Monroe, Verna Appleby, Evelyn Mitchell, Linda Nolker and Bess Slack, all of Jena; two step-sons, Harold Corley of Lake Charles and Lewis Corley of Jonesville; six grandchildren, 13 step- grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, 17 step-great-grandchildren and two step-great-great-grandchildren.
