Duff, 65 years old, and a native of Caldwell Parish died at a hospital in New Orleans Sunday after an operation, and was buried in Hillside Cemetery at Columbia Monday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock. Rev. W. E. Chapman, Baptist minister, performed the funeral services. The deceased is survived by his mother, Mrs. Mary Ann Duff, who is now 90 years old, by his wife, three sons and two daughters, and numerous other relatives. Duke, Sr., aged 84 years, 10 months, and 4 days, died at his home in Jena Saturday afternoon at 1:15 after a very short illness. Deceased was stricken with pneumonia Tuesday and grew steadily worse until the end came Saturday afternoon. Mr. Duke, who was born in Alabama, had been a resident of this territory for almost 83 years. He was married to Miss Cora Martin in 1865. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. R. N. Duke, E. N. Duke, aged 53 years, passed away last Thursday afternoon at the home of his mother, Mrs. R. N. Duke, in Old Jena. He had been in failing health for a number of years. Death occurred at 3:55 o'clock Thursday afternoon. Mr. Duke was born in Robeline, La., March 20, 1878. He formerly lived at Pineville before moving to Jena about three years ago. He was a member of the Jena Baptist Church, having united with the Baptist denomination early in life. In October 1899, he was married to Miss Stella Josephine Robertson. Funeral services were held Friday at the home of his mother, Rev. E. J. Phares, pastor of the Good Pine Baptist Church, conducting the services. Larry Rohrman, Dr. W. Douglas Hudgins, and Rev. Joseph N. Triplett officiating. Final rites were at 2:30 pm Saturday from the New Union Baptist Church, Urania. Interment was in the church cemetery, with Rev. Dorris Dearman officiating. Mrs. Dunn was stricken October 31, and died Thursday morning in a Jackson, Miss, nursing home. A native of Urania, she was the daughter of the late Samuel James and Lee Anna Lisenby Moore, but had made her home in Jackson for the past 44 years. She was an active member of First Baptist Church and Friendship Sunday School Class, having served as president of the class. Mrs. Dunn was a member of the American Waterworks Association, and was most active in civic projects. She was past president of the Riverside Business and Professional Women's Club, the Quota Club, Cityettes Club, and past Chairman of the Ladies Auxiliary at Mississippi Baptist Hospital. She was past president of the American Business Women's Association (Jackson Charter Chapter) and was selected as "Woman of the Year in 1962." A modest unassuming person, her hobby was serving others, and she devoted countless hours of off-duty time to helping others. She had been employed by the City of Jackson 33 1/2 years, having served as Office Manager of the Water Works Department since January 1951. Survivors include her son, John David Dunn, Jr.; two sisters, Mrs. John (Georgia) Lager of Groves, Texas, and Mrs. Vera Nelson of Shreveport, and several nieces and nephews. Durham, Sr., aged 85 years died at the home of his son, Dr. J. P. Durham at Trout, La., Thursday, July 15th at 3 a.m. The deceased made his home with his daughter, Mrs. H. B. King of Verda and had gone to Trout for a visit wheh he was stricken with the illness which resulted in his death. Mr. Durham was well known in this section where he had made his home since boyhood. He was a native of Georgia but came to Louisiana when quite young and settled in the Sardis Community where he married and reared a splendid family. He made frequent visits to Winnfield in the homes of his daughter, Mrs. J. W. Richardson and son, Jesse Durham before the latter moved to Crowville, and has many other relatives and friends here who were grieved to learn of the death. The funeral took place Friday morning at 10 o'clock with interment in the Sardis Cemetery. The services were conducted by the Rev.
