She was a Catholic and a retired ward clerk instructor for Ochsner Foundation Hospital, New Orleans. She was a former Pink Lady in Ville Platte General Hospital. Services were held Wednesday, October 1, 1997 in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Pineville. Survivors include two sons, Charles L."Larry" Erwin and John B. Erwin of Slidell; one daughter Joan Carden of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; three brothers, Donald Manuel of Ville Platte, Irving Manuel of Lafayette and Benny Manuel of Tacoma, Wash.; one sister, Nazel Guillory of Chalmette; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
