Evans, 69, of Jena died Monday, February 18, 1974 at Hardtner Medical Center at Urania. He was a member of the Aimwell Baptist Church. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 20, at Aimwell Baptist Church with Rev. Mickey Bounds officiating. Interment followed in Ford Cemetery of Aimwell under direction of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Monroe Ford Evans of Jena; one daughter, Mrs. June Poole of Jena; two sons, Dexter Evans of Jena and Larry Evans of Lafayette; four brothers, George Evans and Jim Evans, both of Harrisonburg, Elmos Evans of Harrisonburg and Edward Evans of Orange, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Nell Masters of Jonesville and Mrs. Beulah Aplin of Harrisonburg; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
