EWING, Jess E.

 Jess E. Ewing, 93, of Manifest, died Tuesday, February 3, 1998 in LaSalle
General Hospital of Jena.

 He was a native and a lifelong resident of Manifest. He was a member of 
Pisgah Baptist Church at Manifest and a retired employee of the Louisiana
Department of Transportation and Development.

 He was also a retired farmer and cattleman.

 Services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 5, at Pisgah Baptist Church
with the Revs. Larry Tucker, Ed Cotton, David Poole officiating.
 Interment followed in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Manifest under direction 
of Rush Funeral Home of Pineville.

 Survivors include one daughter, Ruth Descant of Swartz; one son, Ily Ewing
of Manifest; one sister, Henrietta Richey of Tioga; six grandchildren and
12 great-grandchildren.
