He was a retired carpenter and served with the U.S. Marines during World War II. Graveside services were held at 11 a.m., Monday, June 1, at Chickasaw Cemetery near Olla with rev. Vincent Bueltell officiating. Interment was under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include his wife, Michele hill Ellis of Cheyenne, Wy.; two daughters, Linda Collins and Brittaney Chapman, both of Columbia; one son, Allen Lezeme Ellis, Jr. of Olla; and four grandchildren. Pallbearers were Allen L. Ellis, Jr., Patrick Collins, Dewey Watson, Jimmy Taylor, Leonard Taylor and Marty Chapman.
