He was an auto mechanic. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Lake Lillie Baptist Church with the Revs. Jack Hagar, Bryan Taylor and Frank Bass, officiating. Burial followed at Heard Cemetery of Manifest under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include his wife, Christine Wilson Edwards of Jonesville; two sons, James Ottis Edwards, Jr. of Harrisonburg and Jess Lee Edwards of Jonesville; three daughters, Jo Ann Fuller of Delhi, Frankie Tolar of Gilbert and Beckie Carroll of Wisner; two brothers, W. A. Edwards and Jess Larry Edwards, both of Georgetown; two sisters, Doris Ray Autrey of Port Arthur, Texas and Betty Janzen of Houston, Texas; and ten grandchildren. Pallbearers were John Fuller, Roger Tolar, George Carroll Jr., Larry Edwards and Steve Dean. Honorary pallbearers were Lloyd Cockran, L. W. Watson, David Patton, Grover Elliott and Rev. Jack E. Lee.
