He was a member of Sunset Acres Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was employed in the food service department for an offshore oil company. He was a native of Jena. Services were held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 31 in the chapel of Hixson Brothers in Pineville with the Rev. Billy Wayne Franks, officiating. Burial followed in the Jena Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers Inc. Survivors include his wife, Betty Ray Ezell of Deville; one son, Paul Ezell of Deville; one daughter, Brenda Ezell Bryan of Alexandria; a brother, James Ezell of Jena; a sister, Myrtle Bird of Jena and one grandchild. Pallbearers were Johnny Ray, J.W. Ezell, Douglas Keene, Clyde Bird, Wayne Ladner and Gary Don Mosely.
