She was a retired school bus driver in LaSalle Parish and had worked as a florist and owned Mignon's Ceramic in Olla. She was also a member of First Baptist Church of Olla. She was born on August 2, 1918, at Calvin to the union of Wise and Myrtle Smith Carter. Services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 28, at the First Baptist Church in Olla with Rev. Milton Wilson officiating. Interment followed in the Olla Cemetery under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Olla. Survivors include her daughter, Camille Elias Denson of Denham Springs; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
