Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 27, at the chapel of Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday with the Revs. Roger Johnson and Charles Heltman officiating. Interment followed in the Jena Cemetery under direction of Young's Ferriday. Boyd in Jonesville last Friday morning at 4 o'clock came as a distinct shock to her many friends and relatives of this section where she had made her home since coming to Louisiana from her birthplace in Mississippi about seventy years ago. Mrs. Edwards was a member of the Pine Grove Baptist Church, having united with the Baptist religion when only 18 years of age. Her husband, W. G. Edwards, preceded her to the grave two years ago. Funeral services were held at the Pine Grove Cemetery at noon, with interment following in the cemetery at that place. Rev. R. M. Doughty of Tullos, officiated at the services. Edwards is Called by Death at Ferriday Tuesday The death of Mrs. Eulola Edwards, wife of Eugene Edwards, Sr., at a Ferriday sanitarium at ten o'clock Tuesday evening came as a distinct surprise to her many friends and relatives throughout this section and has caused genuine regret among the people of this parish. Mrs. Edwards, who was 67 years of age, had been in ill health for several years, but her condition did not become serious until about thirty days ago. She was conveyed to the sanitarium last Sunday for treatment. She had been a resident of this parish her entire lifetime, and was the mother of 14 children, 10 of whom, with her husband, survive her. The funeral service and interment was to be held at Pine Grove at 2:30 Thursday afternoon. Date: Wednesday, March 18, 1998 Wallace A. Edwards, 73, of Humble, Texas, died Saturday, March 7, 1998, in Humble. Graveside services ere held Monday, March 9, in Rosewood Memorial Park Mausoleum in Humble with Rev. Jerry Chaddrick officiating. He was a native of Pollock, and a former resident of Georgetown. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving as a warrant officer and retired from Texaco Chemical in Port Neches, Texas, with 30 years service. He was a member of the Baptist faith serving for years as a deacon. Sub-headline: "Uncle Billy" Edwards is Called to His Last Reward Here An illness of about three years culminated on last Wednesday in the death of William Green Edwards, aged 80 years and 26 days. His death occurred at his home in Jena where he had resided for the past eight years. "Uncle Billy," as Mr. Edwards was known to his legion of friends was born at Cotton Landing, in Catahoula Parish, on March 15th, 1854. He was married in 1876 to Miss Dicy Langram, to which union eleven children, nine of whom, with their mother survive him. They are: John, Tom, and Eugene Edwards of Jena; Henry and Bob Edwards of Ferriday; Mrs. Fred Lees, Jena; Mrs. Walter Bell, Harrisonburg; Mrs. Boyd, Jonesville; Mrs. Chas. Walker, of Jonesville. He is also survived by the following sisters and brothers, Eugene Edwards, Jena; Oliver Edwards, Nebo; Mrs. Bruce Scarborough, Jena; and Mrs. Baylam Smith, Blade. The deceased was a member of one of the pioneer families of this section, the family having settled at Rhinehart many years ago. He united with the Baptist Church when he was 18 years of age and remained a devout member throughout his entire lifetime. Aside from the children, brothers and sisters, there are 58 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren now living. Funeral services were held at the Pine Grove Church on Wednesday afternoon, interment following in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Rev. L. D. Posey, and Rev. T. M. Doughty, officiating. Edwards, Feb. 9 Services for Mr. William Oliver Edwards, 69 years old, were held at 4:00 p.m., February 9, in the Pine Grove Cemetery at Rhinehart. Rev. Allbritton and Rev. McDaniel officiated. Mr. Edwards died in Nebo at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E. A. Wilson, Feb. 8, at 9 p.m. Cause of death was given as heart trouble. He was a lifelong resident of this community, having been born at Rhinehart July 5, 1874. The deceased was a member of the Baptist Church at Nebo. Survivors are: two daughters, Mrs. E. A. Edwards Funeral services for William Steele Edwards, 48, of Rhinehart, were held at the Pine Grove Baptist Church at 4 p.m., Monday, Oct. 29, with Rev. Jesse Norris officiating. Interment was in the Pine Grove Cemetery at Rhinehart under the direction of Kinner and Stevens Home for Funerals. Mr. Edwards passed away at 4 p.m., Sunday, at the Jena Hospital. His death was attributed to cancer. He had been ill for about one year. He was a member of the Baptist Church and a commercial fisherman by occupation. He was born at Rhinehart on Dec. 18, 1902. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. Albert Edwards. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. W. S. Edwards of Rhinehart; one daughter, Aline; two sons, Morris and Albert, both of Rhinehart; two grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Bill Morris, Miss Addie Edwards, and Mrs. Thelma Clark, all of Rhinehart, and one brother, Elmus Edwards of Rhinehart.
