Fife, Tullos Resident, Died May 27 Mack W. Fife, 73, of Tullos, a retired oilfield employee, died Tuesday afternoon, May 27, 1969, in Columbia Heights Hospital at Columbia after a long illness. He spotted the first location that led to the discovery of oil in the Tullos field. At the time of the discover, he was a team foreman for the Alcorn Contracting Co. of Alco. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Velda McBroom Fife; four daughters, Mrs. Juanita Wall of Tullos, Mrs. Linda Jergins and Mrs. Yvonne Wright, both of Shreveport, and Mrs Evelyn Watts of West Monroe; and one son, M.W. Fife Jr. of Shreveport. Funeral services were to be held at __ a.m. May 29 in the New Union Baptist Church with Revs. E.D. Dearman, Robert Richardson and Percy Tibbets officiating. Burial was in the Pineville (sic Pinehill) cemetery. Masonic gravesite rites were conducted. Additional Comments: Mac was the son of Philip MacDuffie (Duffie) Fife and Mary C. MCKENZIE.
