Doyle Ray Ford

An investigation into the death of Doyle Ray Ford of Aimwell indicates that he
was electrocuted while operating a portable sawmill he owned, according to
Catahoula Parish Coroner Dr. William Coney.

Independent electricians investigated the area Ford had been working in at the
time of his death and found a leakage of electricity, Coney said.

The day Ford died was a wet day and he was working in a wet environment. The
wet environment would make it easy for him to receive a large jolt of
electricity, Coney said.

Ford died at 4:30 p.m. June 21, 1987 at his home.

He was retired from International Paper Company and was a veteran of the
Korean War.

Services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday at The Aimwell Pentecostal Church with the
Revs. Everett Mayo and Kirk Mayo officiating.

Burial was in Aimwell Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers Inc. of
Jena.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Ford of Aimwell; two sons, Darrell Ford and
Chester Ford, both of Aimwell; one sister, Bobbie Nell Posey of Aimwell; two
brothers, J. W. Ford and Elmo Ford, both of Aimwell; and four grandchildren,
Jeffery, Melony, Tiffany and Christy Ford.

Pallbearers were Eddie Roy Posey, George Fowler, Dave Joy, Tommy Joy, Ronald
Renfrow, Perry McMillin and Meredith Poole.

Honorary pallbearers were International Paper Co. Co-workers.
