Shorty Francis Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. last Friday for William Eugene (Shorty) Francis, 60, of Trout, at Belah Methodist Church with Revs. Willie Broadway and Byrl Moreland, officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with Masonic rites at graveside under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. Mr. Francis died early Wednesday morning at his residence from an apparent heart attack. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Alice Janie Francis of Trout; a son, Tommy E. Francis of Sulphur; a daughter, Mrs. Ellyene Coile of Lake Arthur; two brothers, Herbert Francis of Tullos and Claude Francis of North Dakota; five sisters, Mrs. Irma McCartney, Mrs. Bernice Jones, and Mrs. Yvonne Cockerham, all of Trout, Mrs. Jewel love of Bossier City and Mrs. Lillie Ganey of Castor; and four grandchildren. Pallbearers were Masons, Paul strozier, Benny McCrory, Cecil Guldie, Roy Hailey, Elton Cockerham, Vincent Whatley, Whitney LaCroix, Edwin Scott; Worshipful Master Floyd Perritt; Senior Warden A. O. Hester.
