Services were at 2 p.m. Monday at Standard baptist Church in Olla with the Revs. James Simon and Jim Love officiating. Burial was in Chickasaw Cemetery near Olla under the direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home of Columbia. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Maggie Franklin of Olla; four sons, elmos Franklin of Clarks, Huey Franklin of Urania, Paul Franklin of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and W.C. Franklin of Olla; eight daughters, Mrs. Marsellene Coleman and Mrs. Viva Coleman, both of Lake Charles, Mrs. Ruby Chapman of Jena, Mrs. Ruth Doffitt of Clarks, Mrs. Shirley Aswell of Monterey, Mrs. Dorothy McCartney, Mrs. Sue Simons and Mrs. Carolyn Aycock, all of Olla; two sisters, Mrs. Dottie Proffer and Mrs. Cilla Sikes, both of Clarks; 20 grandchildren and four great- grandchildren. Grandsons served as pallbearers.
