Obituary of John Philip Gilmore

John Gilmore Dies; Burial At Chalk Hill

 Funeral services for John Philip Gilmore, 65, of Jena were held
Tuesday, August 30 at the First Baptist Church in Jena.

 Mr. Gilmore was an oilfield worker; veteran of World War II,
a Royal Arch Mason, and a member of the First Baptist Church.

 He died at Rapides General Hospital in Alexandria Sunday at 
11:20 p.m.

 Burial was at Chalk Hill Cemetery at Zenoria under the direction 
of Kinner and Stevens.

 Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Clara Manning Gilmore of Jena;
one daughter, Dr. Phyliss Claire Gilmore of Baton Rouge; one son,
O.L. Gilmore of Bastrop; and two sisters, Mrs. Maude Hutchins and
Mrs. Mellie Ebey, both of Harrisonburg.
