GANEY, Katherine Ida Russell

 Katherine Ida Russell Ganey, 72, of Jena, died at 9:45 a.m. Thursday, 
April 2, 1998, at the St. Frances Cabrini Medical Center in Alexandria.

 She was a retired teacher and coach with the LaSalle Parish School System
and member of the First Baptist Church of Jena.

 Services were held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, April 4, at the First Baptist
Church in Jena with Revs. Bo Owens, Dr. William Pod and Rev. P. A. Paul
officiating.

 Interment followed in the Belah Cemetery of Trout under direction of Hixson
Brothers Funeral Home of Jena.

 Survivors include one daughter, Tanya Ganey of Sherwood, Ark.; one son,
Rodney Ganey of Jena; one brother, Houston Roy Russell of Scott, Miss.; and 
two grandchildren and three nephews.

 Pallbearers were C. W. Breland, Charles Boyd, Eugene Fitzgerald, June Fowler,
John Parker and Ellis Lee Russell.

 Honorary pallbearers were Glenn Dale Ganey and Talmadge Jenkins.
