Gray. This ?talwart old landmark o??stren justice, this exponent of brotherly love, this fortress of Christian faith passed on to his eternal reward on December 26, 1939 at 1:17 p.m. John S. Grays' life was filled with these qualities that constitute real greatness. He was a man whom people honored and loved, but whose true worth was not realized until he was gone. A tree is known by the fruit it bears. Mr. Gray reared a noble family whose members have, through his guidance, found useful places in the world. His Christian life spoke for itself. As head of the home he ruled with love and prayer. His life demanded the love and respect that his family lavished on him. Even in the midst of our grief for his departure there steals into our hearts both joy and satisfaction in the knowledge that he has entered into the perfect life. It is therefore for us to look forward and to strive by his example, to meet him in the Great Beyond. May we all live lives that he prayed for us to live. Those who survive him are: Mrs. J. S. Gray, widow, of Jena; Homer Gray of Jena, Dr. James Gray of New Orleans, Dr. Clint Gray of Shreveport, sons; Mrs. Sena Windham of Jena, Miss Eunice Gray of Leesville and Miss Mildred Gray of Jena, daughters. - A Friend. *************************************************************************** Note : The letters that I could not read are marked with ?.
