He was retired from the Louisiana department of Highways and was a veteran of World War II. Services were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 31, at Temple Baptist Church of Jena with the Revs. Jimmy Keene, Nick Powe, and Karl Doughty officiating. Interment followed in the Wilbanks Cemetery near Summerville under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include his wife, Eleanor Green of Olla; two daughters, Elizabeth Ann "Beth" Poole of St. Joseph and Reta Jean Caraway of Summerville; one son, Charles Wesley Green of Pollock; one sister, Eula Taylor of Jena; two brothers, Albert Green of Winnfield and Lawrence Green of Taylor, Ark.; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, ten step-grandchildren, 17 step great-grandchildren and two step great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Gawan Burgess, Buddy Willis, Ron Liles, Joe Phillips, Robert Terral and James Francis. Honorary pallbearers were Ronnie Tarver, Virgil Terral, Marion Terral, Clifton Jackson, Dale Evans, Don Day, and Steve Andrews.
