Hillery Clifford Graham, 76, of Jena, died at 1:49 a.m., Sunday, January 17, 1999, at LaSalle General Hospital of Jena. Rev. Graham was a graduate of Jena High School, Louisiana College and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary with a Graduate Specialist Degree in Religious Education. He served churches in Louisiana, Tennessee, Kentucky and Georgia before going to the mission field. He retired after serving as a Southern Baptist Foreign Missionary for 20 years. A veteran of the military service, he was born November 28, 1922 at Nebo to the union of Talmadge and Mary Smith Graham. Services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, January 19, at Jena First Baptist Church with Dr. William Poe and Dr. Shelby Smith officiating. Interment followed in Graham Cemetery of Nebo under direction of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include his wife, Helen Ashford Graham of Jena; one daughter, Mary Ewing of Prattville, Ala.; one son, Rich Graham of Jackson, Ms.; two sisters, Christine Harvey of Bridge City, Tx. And Louise Head of Jena; two brothers, Jimmy Graham of Jena and Billy Joe Graham of Bridge City, Tx.; and three grandchildren. Nephews served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Monday Morning Prayer Group at Jena First Baptist Church.
