Gibson, 68, of Shreveport, died Friday, December 15, 1989, at 6:08 a.m. at Overton Brooks Veteran Administration Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born at Midway in LaSalle Parish, and had been a lifelone resident of Shreveport, where he retired as a refridgeration engineer. He was a Baptist and a veteran of the U.S. Army, World War II. Services were held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, at Rose-Neath's Soutside Chapel in Shreveport with Rev. Olan McDaniel and Rev. Leonard McDaniel, officiating. He is survived by his wife, Hazel McDaniel Gibson of Shreveport; one son, Larry A. Gibson of Bossier City; five daughters, Susan Ward of Denham Springs, Patricia McClain of Eatonton, Georgia, Iris Harper of Shreveport, Christine Trice of Ft. Worth, Texas, June Faust of Carrollton, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Clara Evans of Tullos and Mrs. Margie Lisenbee of Shreveport; two brothers, Archie Gibson of Baton Rouge and Claude Gibson of Haynesville; 13 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were sons-in-laws and grandson, Mike Trice, Dan Harper, Robert Faust, Lee Ward, Mark Bodenhammer, Mike Boderhamer.
