Polk Gibbs, 85, of Jena, died at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 1990, at the LaSalle General Hospital. He was a retired oilfield employee and member of the Baptist Faith. Services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 5, at the chapel of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena with Rev. Aaron Paul Erwin, officiating. Burial followed at DeBerry Cemetery of DeBerry, Texas, under arrangements of Kinner and Stevens Funeral home of Jena. Survivors include his wife, Thelma Gibbs of Jena; two daughters, Betty Henley of Baton Rouge and Linda Morrow of Mandeville; a step-daughter, Hazel Barker of Ferriday; a step-son, Joe Bacle of Luling; two sisters, Dora Jones of Shreveport and Dema Mircle of Bossier City; 7 grandchildren and two great- grandchildren.
