He was an employee at Pinecrest State School and worked at Terry Hardware and Lumber CO. in Harrisonburg for 25 years. She was a member of First United Pentecostal Church of Pineville. She was a native of Kendricks Ferry. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Pineville with the Revs. David Roberts and Leland Briggs, officiating. Burial followed in Belah Methodist Church Cemetery near Jena. Survivors include three sons, Oscar Grantham of Deville, C.F. Grantham of Jena and James Grantham of Irving, Texas; two daughters, Marie Lee of Pineville and Velda Hanner of Bentley; one brother, Leo Thacker of Bloomington, Texas; nine sisters, Jeffie Hickingbottom and Ruthie Masters, both of Monroe, Bessie Jones and Tiny Kirl, both of Jena, Naomi Treadwell and Genater Prince, both of Pineville, Faye McCaskill of Jonesville, Helen Johnson of Simmesport and Ethel Deville of Deville; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Jim Parish, W.F. Deville, Chris Dubois, Ray Warren, Wayne Roberts and Dale Sanders.
