V. Bradford and son Jim Arnold, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Mrs. Arnold, 87, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2002 in Christus St. Frances Hospital, Alexandria. Mrs. Arnold was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother. Her love was known by her family and all that knew her. As a young adult Mrs. Arnold answered a call to Christian service and served as a pastor and ordained minister in the Free Methodist Church in Pineville. She also sang with a senior singing group that visted area nursing homes. An elementary and high school teacher, she taught in Rapides and LaSalle Parishes. She also held a degree from Louisina State Normal College awarded in 1940. She was preceded in death by her husband, Voight Arnold; her parents, John and Melissa Sills Chapman; 4 brothers and 3 sisters. She is survived by three sons, Ben Arnold and wife Milda of Pineville, David Arnold and wife Vicky of Ball and Jim Arnold, Sr. and wife Peggy of Corpus Christi, Texs; three sisters, Evilee Chapman Arnold and Una Chapman Stanhope, both of Oklahoma, and Aline Chapman Sanders of Jena; seven grandchildren, Jim Jr. wife Lisa Arnold, Deborah Arnold, Shawndrea Arnold, Brynan Arnold, Allen Arnold, Robert Duck and Donnella Duck; and two great-grandchildren, Cameron Arnold and Sarah Duck. Pallbearers will be Allen Arnold, Steve Sanders, Brynan Arnold, Brett Bolen, Jim Arnold, Jr., and Hershel Paul. Honorary pallbearers will be Nathan Clark, Richard Price, Allen Tinsley, Charles Moore, Kern Stretton,Barry Paul and Marshall Stretton. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2002 in the funeral home and Wednesday from 8 a.m. until service time.
