Mrs. Len Huffman of Walter Dies; Rites Are Held on Tuesday

Mrs. Len Huffman, 71, of Walters, a lifelong resident of that area, died at
the Jena hospital Monday afternoon shortly before 4 o'clock.

Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock at the Prosperity
Baptist church, with the Rev. Genie Walker and Cliff Ganey conducting the
final rites. Interment followed in the Pine Grove cemetery of Rhinehart under
the direction of Kinner and Stevens Home for Funerals of Jena.

Mrs. Huffman is survived by her husband, Len Huffman of Walters; two
daughters, Mrs. Lois Paul of Walters and Mrs. Willie Chadwick of Wichita,
Kan.; three sons, John and Carter of Walters and Clem of Winnfield; a brother,
Fred Chevallier of Walters and a sister, Mrs. Celia Sanson of Pineville; 15
grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to the above information I would like to add the following :

Mrs. Len Huffman the former Miss Ellen Lavinia Chevallier was born on 
November 5, 1886 to the union of Daniel Daily (Pompalo) and Willie Earron
(Elizabth) Farris Chevallier. Her date of death was November 11, 1957.

On March 4, 1909 in Catahoula Parish, La. she married Leonard "Len" Poston
Huffman.

In addition to the surviving children named above she was preceded in death by
a daughter, Mildred Suzanne Huffman b. September 9, 1914 d. August 2, 1942,
wife of Ellis F. Bush buried at Pine Grove Cemetery, Rhinehart, LaSalle
Parish, La.
