He was a retired truck driver with Periman Corp. of Urania, was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War. Services were held at 10:00 a.m. last Thursday, Aug. 30, in the chapel of Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia with the Rev. James Simons, officiating. Burial followed at Beech Creek Cemetery near Olla under direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia. Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Gilliam Hatten of Olla; one son, David Hatten of Olla; three brothers, Ray Hatten of Grayson, Randolph Hatten of Mansfield and Harvey Hatten of Baltimore, Md.; and two sisters, Evie Stearns and Estelle Taylor, both of Olla. Pallbearers were Randy Hatten, Ronnie Hatten, Ricky Hatten, Chris Hatten, Russell McClary and Jimmy Ray Eubanks.
