Hatfield; On April 10, 1910, the death angel visited the home of Mr. and Mrs. S. S. Hatfield near Searcy, La., and released from this earthly tabernacle the spirit of their little son, Mayo, who was sick nine days with pneumonia. His little body was laid to rest in the Mike Frazier Cemetery to await the resurrection of the dead. Little Mayo was exceedingly bright and lovely, and by his death a vacancy is made in the earthly home that cannot be filled, but we know what seems to be our loss is Heaven's gain. Weep not, loved ones, but look to Jesus, who is the resurrection and life, and when the summons comes for us to pass over the river of death, we'll be reunited with our loved one never to part. Me thinks I hear the sweet voice of Little Mayo singing in joyous hallelujah; I have reached the land ahead, it's fruits are waving o'er the hills of fadeless green, And the living waters having shores, Where heavenly forms are seen, Rocks and storms I'll fear no more, While on this eternal shore. Drop the anchor, furl the sail, For I am safe within the vale. A Friend.
