Warren Glenn Jackson a member of the Jena Band of Choctaws, was found after the blaze had been extinguished by fire departments called to the scene. The LaSalle Sheriff's Department received a call shortly after 5 a.m., Saturday, from a neighbor who reported the fire. Fire units from Jena, Eden-Fellowship and Tullos Fire Departments responded to the call but the residence was engulfed in flames when they arrived, deputies said. After the fire had been extinguished and Jackson's body was found, LaSalle Parish Coroner Dr. I.C. Turnley, Jr. was called to the scene. He ordered an autopsy and the body was sent to Bossier City. The State Fire Marshal's Office was notified and the investigation was turned over to a fire marshal. Although an official report on the cause of the blaze will be forthcoming from the fire marshal, officials believed the fire started from a stove in the house.
