James Edwards Kent

James Edwards Kent, 87, of Georgetown, died at 2:18 p.m., Tuesday, October 27,
1998, in Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria.

He was employed with Central State Life Insurance Company for 32 years and
served as District Manager of the Jena Office. After retirement from Central
State, he worked 16 years with Louisiana-Pacific Corporation.

Services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 30, at Georgetown First Baptist
Church with the Revs. Howard Smith and Huey Tarpley officiating.

Burial followed in Oak Grove Cemetery of Bently under direction of Hixson
Brothers Funeral Home of Jena.

Survivors include his wife, Bertha Barrett Kent of Georgetown; one daughter,
Bonnie Kent Tannehill of Cleveland, Tx; one sister, Clothilde Kent Barrett of
Pollock; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Ralph Brown, Bob Barrett, W. C. Holloway, George Barrett,
Carol Kent and Jerry Kent.
