All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Mrs. Ozanna Kendrick Dies At Residence Mrs. Ozanna Paul Kendrick, lifelong resident of LaSalle and Catahoula parishes, died at her residence in Jena, Thursday, April 14, at 10:40 p.m. following a lengthy illness. She was 94 years, 6 months and 11 days of age at the time of her death. Born in Rapides parish October 3, 1865 at the close of the war between the States. Mrs. Kendrick lived a very active and useful life until two years ago when she broke her hip and since had been home of Mrs. Martha Valentine for bed. A lifelong member of the Baptist church, Mrs. Kendrick was a member of the East Jena Baptist church where she was active in attendance until the time of her confinement. Services were held Saturday, April 16 at 2:00 p.m. from the East Jena Baptist church with the Revs. Harvey McClure, Pat Guice, Dave Johnson, and Larry Walker in charge. Interment followed in Pine Grove cemetery near White Hall. Mrs. Kendrick is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. Viola Ogden of Jena, Mrs. Lena Tarpley of Jonesville; 2 sons, Steve Crooks of Jena and Kennon Bradford of Jena; 22 gradnchildren; 58 great-grandchildren and 28 great-great- grandchildren, a host of nieces nephews and other relatives. Pallbearers were Earl Paul, Elvin tarpley, Howard Tarpley, W. L. Bradford, E. A. Bradford, and Carry Crooks. ****************************************************************************** In addition to the above information I would like to add the following. She was born to the union of Phillip and Nan Eleanora McGlothin Paul. Her marriages include :(1) Madison Crooks July 5, 1883 in Rapides Parish, La.; (2)William Kennard Bradford May 14, 1896 Rapides Parish, La.; (3) Daniel Daily "Pompalo" Chevallier Dec. 15, 1912 LaSalle Parish, La.; (4) W. W. Kendrick May 18, 1927.
