Date: November 30, 1988, Wednesday Headline: Mrs. Jewell Kendrick Mrs. Jewell Kendrick, 69, of Jena, died at 5:45 a.m., Thursday, November 24, 1988, at the St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria. She was a housewife and a member of the First Baptist Church of Jena. Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the chapel of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena with Dr. R. C. Hammock officiating. Burial followed at Woodland Cemetery of Jena under direction of Kinner and Stevens, Inc., of Jena. Survivors include her husband, Louie Kendrick of Jena; two daughters, Mrs. Rita Amyx of Jena and Mrs. Ginger McClure of Jonesville; two sons, Charles Kendrick of Lafayette and Larry Kendrick; two brothers, John Bradford and Jimmy Bradford, both of Walters; and eight grandchildren. Pallbearers were Ronnie Kendrick, Donnie Kendrick, John Lester Kendrick, John E. Date: March 10, 1999, Wednesday Headline: Area Deaths – Katherine King Kennon Katherine King Kennon, 61, of Harrisonburg, died Monday, March 1, 1999, at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday. She was born September 8, 1937, to the union of Charles Sterling and Marie Parker King and was a lifelong resident of Catahoula Parish. She was a member of the First Pentecostal Church of Jonesville and was employed by the Catahoula Parish Sheriff's Department as a chef. Services were held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 3, at First Pentecostal Church of Jonesville with the Revs. Jack Knapp and David Kennon officiating. Interment followed in the Jena Cemetery under direction of Young's Funeral Home of Jonesville. Survivors include her sister, Maudie Hayes of Effie; one brother, Wedon King of Jonesville; four sons, Nathan Kennon of Vidalia, Rev.
