Lees, 74, of Jena,, died at 12:15 a.m., Thursday, September 10, 1998, at the St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria. He was a retired poster service employee and a member of the First Baptist Church of Jena. He was born October 14, 1923, in Jena to the union of William Fredrick and Sallie Edwards Lees. Services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, September 12, at the chapel of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena with the Revs. Mack Walker and Ben Deville officiating. Interment followed in the Jena Cemetery under direction of Kinner and Stevens, Inc. of Jena. Survivors include three daughters, Deborah Lees DeVille, Jan Lees Stone and Melinda Lees, all of Jena; two sisters, Rita Farley of Jena and Jewel Breithaupt of Winnfield; one brother, Henry Lees of Jena; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Scott Williams, Jason Williams, Wesley Williams, Derek Calk, Brent Farley, and Dal Breithaupt. Members of the Jena Band of Choctaws served as honorary pallbearers.
