Mrs. Labelle was born in Texas on May 28, 1909 and died Thursday, November 6, 2003 at the LaSalle General Hospital in Jena. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her husband: Paul Labelle. Date: December 7, 2005; Page 16A Headline: Felix M. "Cage" LaCroix Felix. M. "Cage" LaCroix, 91, of Trout, died Thursday, December 1, 2005, at the LaSalle Nursing Home of Jena. He was a retired laborer in the oil industry and was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served in World War II. Services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 3, at the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in the Mt. Sinai Community with the Revs. Albert Vicker and Denver McBroom officiating. Interment followed in the Mt. Sinai Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include his wife, Wannie Mae Jones LaCroix of Trout; one daughter, Audrey camille Island of Oklahoma City, Ok.; one son, Doyle Glen LaCroix of Loranger; two step-daughters, Joy Bradford of Trout and Willie Farris of Boyce; one brother, Wallace LaCroix of Macon, Ga.; 13 grandchildren, 24 great- grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. He was born Dec. 14, 1952, in Freeport, Texas, and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of the Brazoria, Texas First Assembly of God Church. He owned and operated George's Appliance in Sweeny. Services were held at 2:30 p.m., SUnday, June 25, at the First Assembly of God Church in Brazoria with Pastor Dale Frankum, Pastor Tommy Behrend and Pastor H. E. Williams officiating. Graveside services were held Monday, June 26, at 2:30 p.m., at Siloam Cemetery near Jena under direction of Dixon Funeral Home of Brazoria. Survivors include his wife, Laura Laffoon of Sweeny; one son, Brian Allison-Laffoon of Jena; one daughter, Jobi Berry of Sweeny; his parents, H. F. and VIrgie Laffon of Brazoria; three sisters, Glenda (Glen) Gayle Myers of New Orlaeans, Virgie Ann (Johnny) Coon and Laurice Marie (Lloyd) Nelson, both of Jena; and several nephews and great-nephews. Services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 6, in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena with the Revs. Dave Bailey and John R. Cupit officiating. Date: January 5, 2005 Headline: E. J. Lassiter, Jr. E. J. Lassiter, Jr., 80, of Jena, died Monday, December 27, 2004, at his residence. He was a retired school teacher, a veteran of the United States Navy having served during World War II in the South PAcific and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5002 of Jena. HE was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church of Jonesville. Lassiter was employed by LaSalle Clerk of COurt from 1977 to 1985 and was currently employed by the LaSalle Assessor as a Cadastral Engineer. He was born in Jena on November 25, 1924, to the union of Elthus Jaby and Marie Louise Bennett Lassiter. Services were held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 30, at the chapel of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena with Rev. Melody Long officiating. Interment followed in the Nolley Memorial Cemetery under direction of Kinner and Stevens, Inc., of Jena. Survivors include his wife, Nell Allien Lassiter of Jena; one daughter, Camille Lassiter Grabski of Wheaton, Ill.; three sons, Daniel Lassiter of Moscow, Russia, Clintom Lassiter of Alexandria, VA., and David Lassiter of Stonewall; one brother, Frank Lassiter of Jena; nine grandchildren; three step-children, Susan Clary, Lyle Ganey, and Kelly Douglas; five step- grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren.
