He was a retired mechanic with Justiss Oil Company and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. Services were held at 3 p.m., Thursday, February 5, at Searcy Baptist Church with Rev. Louis Gordon officiating. Interment followed in the Chalk Hill Cemetery near Little Creek under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include his wife, Rowena McQueen of Trout; one daughter, Brenda Anne McDaniel of Duncan, Okla.; two sons, Bryan Joseph Dugan and Johnnie Joseph Dugan, Jr., both of Jena; two brothers, L. C. McQueen of West Monroe and David McQueen of Bossier City; one sister, Catherine Head of Shreveport; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Ronnie Loe, Randy Loe, L. D. Stringer, Bradley McDowell, Sherman McDowell and C. H. Morton. (The Jena Times, Wednesday, February 11, 1998)
