He was a taxi cab driver with M & M Taxi Service of Lake Charles. Services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 23 at the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Jena with Rev. Tommy Hollis officiating. Interment followed in the Pine Hill Cemetery near Olla under direction of Hixson Brothers Inc. of Jena. Survivors include three sisters, Nettie Evelyn Jackson of Salem, Ind., Francis Rena Blazier of Olla and Marguarite Williams of Grorgetown; two brothers, W. M. Murphrey of Tullos and Lawrence Murphrey of Salem, Ind. Pallbearers were Michael Murphrey, Douglas Murphrey, Robbie Conville, Johhny Robinson, Donald Lee Arnold and Buck Borland.
