He was a retired mechanic and member of the Assembly of God Church. He was born Feb. 7, 1929, in Lepanto, Ark. Services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 7, at Lake Lily Baptist Church near Jonesville with the Revs. Lanny Head and Frank Bass officiating. Interment followed in the Woodlawn Cemeetery of Jena under direction of Young's Funeral home of Jonesville. Survivors include his wife; two sons, James Mannon of Urania and Charles Mannon of Jonesville; two daughters, Mary Lee Taunton and Linda Campbell, both of Jena; two brothers, George "Bo" Mannon of Jena; one sister, Mae Miller of Harrisburg, Ark. Pallbearers were Chris Freeman, Chris Powell, Steve taylor, John Morgan, Jarod Tolar and Steve Meyers. Honorary pallbearers were George Farris, Albert Miller, Oadis Gann, Billy Helton, Joe Taunton and Tuney Waters. (THE Jena Times, Wednesday, April 8, 1998)
