Laura Mae McGowen

Laura Mae McGowen, 72, of Olla, died Wednesday, May 6, 1998, at the Glenwood
Regional medical Center in West Monroe.

She was born April 8, 1926 in Olla to the union of Fred and Mattie Elliott
Tolbert. She was a member of the Pine Hill Baptist Church.

Services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 9, at the chapel of Riser Funeral
Home in Olla with Dr. Claude Hughes officiating.

Interment followed in the Olla Cemetery under direction of Riser, Olla.

Survivors include two sons, John McGowen and Robert Sherwin, both of West
Monroe; one daughter, Lou Antley of West Monroe; one sister, Laverne Ingram of
Alexandria; two grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Jimmy McGowen, Lamar Honey, Jerry Ingram, Newt Carpenter,
Darren Ingram and Butch Tolbert.

Honorary pallbearers were Jay Holton and Tim Murphy.
