She was a homemaker and member of the Columbia Heights Baptist Church. She was born in Dorig, La. On March 9, 1923, to the union of Felix Isah and Beatrice Roy Girod. Services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, August 7, from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with the Revs. Julius Russell and Bruce McGee officiating. Interment followed in the Landereau Cemetery at Hebert under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia. Survivors include one son, Herman E. Murphy of Jena; two daughters, Pat Spikes of Columbia and Jeanette Knapp of Lakewood, Co.; two brothers, Russell Girod of Hebert and Roy Girod of San Antonio, Texas; three sisters, Betty Wilkes and June Baker, both of West Monroe and margie Dannehl of Hebert; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Deacons of Columbia Heights Baptist Church served as pallbearers.
