"Lynn" Melton, 73, of Georgetown, died Wednesday, May 13, 1998, in the Winn Parish Medical Center in Winnfield. He was a veteran of World War II and was a Baptist. He was a 30 year employee of the Grant Parish School Board as a bus driver for Georgetown High School. He was also a member of the Paralyzed Veterans Association. Services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, May 15, in the chapel of Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield with Rev. W.D. Carson and Dr. Calvin Phelps officiating. Interment followed in the Liberty Chapel Cemetery at Williana under direction of Southern, Winnfield. Survivors are his wife, Toy Haynes Melton of Georgetown; one daughter, Markita Russell of Bossier City; two brothers, W.K. melton, of Rolling Fork, Ms., and Phillip Melton of Salem, S.D.; four sisters, Charlotte McFarland and Bobbie Tullos, both of Winnfield, Nancy Sledge of Metairie, Fannie Coleman of Olla; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers were Milt Barrett, Ray Barrett, Johnny Haynes, Bruce Campbell, Augie Barrett, Jason Williams. Honorary pallbearers were Charles Dow, Johnny Jones, Johnnie Moore and James DeWitt.
